The first educational oral health board book for infants and toddlers with blindness and low vision, developed through partnerships with The Delta Dental Foundation and Vision Interventions and Parental Support (VIPS), as well as other dedicated collaborators and families who recognized the need for more accessible oral health resources.
The Happy Teeth! Braille Book features uncontracted braille, high contrast visuals, inclusive imagery, and is designed to teach children about the importance of primary (baby) teeth and how to care for them. Each page is based on current oral health research or American Association of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) recommendations. Scannable QR codes link to videos teaching best practices for brushing teeth and wiping gums, and for learning more about the children and families who helped make this book possible.
